I cared for everyone and wasn’t able to work for the ten years. I did my father in laws hospice in the house until he passed.
The house was left to my husband in the will. I fixed up the house and we sold it , then used that money to buy something larger for the family. We lived in the newer house for five years and my name is on the deed. During our settlement hearing he claimed that the home is his and it’s up for sale and I get nothing. Is this true? I gave 15 years of my life not working so I could care for the home and family. How can this be?

Hi Stanley. Thanks for the question. Inheritance can get tricky, and things like buying a house together only muddy the waters even more. I passed your contact information on to Ken Alan, our managing attorney. He will be in touch soon to answer any questions you have and give you an idea of how we can help.

I receive Spousal maintenance and child support. I may inherit money from my mom who just died.
How do I protect myself from my ex who will go to court to lessen maintenance and child support because I receive an inheritance?
