Colette McEldowney Joins Goldberg Jones

Goldberg Jones Attorney Profiles

Goldberg Jones is excited to welcome the newest addition to our Seattle team: Colette McEldowney. A skilled, versatile attorney, she brings a wealth of experience to the firm and will be a huge asset to husbands and fathers facing divorce and going through custody battles in the Puget Sound region and beyond.

Though she is relatively new to the practice of family law, Colette has a varied legal background. She has time and time again, shown her dedication to getting justice for her clients in a variety of circumstances. Before changing trajectories, she served as a deputy district attorney in Portland, Oregon, where she prosecuted felonies and misdemeanors, ranging from domestic violence to traffic crimes.

She handled cases involving dependency, worked with the legal needs of neglected children, fought for victim’s rights, and toiled away tirelessly with the Mental Health Specialty Court. Through all of this, she maintained a fierce dedication to the people she represents, putting their well-being first and foremost at all times.

No stranger to the courtroom, Colette is equally capable and competent wherever a particular case may take her. She approaches every situation in a composed, professional manner, and uses whatever tools necessary to get an optimal result for her clients.

Whether she needs to be fierce and aggressive at trial, or understated and compassionate helping people through difficult times in their lives, she is flexible, adaptable, and accommodating. She designs all of her tactics and strategies with her clients’ goals and well-being at the forefront of her mind.

Judges and colleagues alike have praised her ability to question witnesses and coax out important information on both direct and cross examinations. Confident and professional, but still personable and approachable, she forms a strong connection with the jury that she uses to the advantage of those she stands for.

Friendly and accessible, Colette has a deep empathy for her clients and is steadfast in her representation. This compassion makes her a favorite among both the people she works for and the people she works with. Her professional associates sing her praises as a polite and prepared, yet tenacious advocate.

Speaking of McEldowney, managing attorney Ken Alan says, “Colette is sharp and thorough, with a deep compassion for her clients. Her experience as a deputy district attorney and dedication to justice make her an important addition to the Goldberg Jones family.”

A native of Oregon, Colette graduated from Oregon State University with her bachelor’s degree in political science. From there she attended Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, where she received her Juris Doctor.

A competitive, dedicated litigator, Colette is a passionate advocate for her clients and is a fantastic new addition to the firm. Moving forward into this new phase of her career, she will continue to use her skills to benefit those she represents and support the husbands and fathers of King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties, as well as the surrounding areas.

When she’s not busy fighting for the rights of her clients, Colette McEldowney can be found spending time with her friends and family, taking advantage of the gorgeous local environment by hiking the numerous trails, cooking, and watching college football.
